Spanish: GN'R: Duff McKagan y Axl Rose, ¡devuevo juntos en el ecenario!

Written by Genetikarockradio.com - Geneti

GN'R: Duff McKagan and Axl Rose, together again on stage

Written by Genetikarockradio.com - Geneti

Since the entry met Guns N 'Roses in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame (next April 14), rumors of a reunion of the original have skyrocketed. And to add fuel to the fire, former bassist for the band, Duff McKagan is back onto the stage to play with Axl Rose and the current Guns N 'Roses (do not miss the short video that we leave the event ). Limarán ¿Axl and Slash too rough? The circle is closed ...
Occurred on December 16. Guns N 'Roses arrived at Key Arena in Seattle to give another concert included in its extensive U.S. tour. And who better to make the opening act and Duff McKagan Loaded? The bassist, guitarist and singer (originally from Seattle) opened the night for the band over 25 years ago he founded along with Axl Rose, Slash, Izzy Stradlin and Steven Adler. Curious is not it?

Forget old quarrels, the night threw up a few emotions for those who were lucky enough to attend the show. First with the winks to Duff McKagan's Loaded Guns repertoire, performing during her performance on "So Fine" (composed by the same McKagan), and covers of "New Rose" and "Attitude", versioned by songs the original Guns N 'Roses in the 90's.

Soon after came what everyone expected. Half concert Guns, Axl Rose McKagan invited onto the stage to play "You Could Be Mine". And as expected, madness ensued ... We also recall that it is not the first time that accompanies current McKagan Guns N 'Roses. The Velvet Revolver bassist also participated last year in the concert Axl Rose and his offered in London. We are therefore fully recovered to a friend ...

Now what we need to know is what will happen on the night of April 14, when the Guns N 'Roses will enter the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. The gala will take place in Cleveland is seen as the ideal opportunity for a possible reunion of the original lineup of the band. The only obstacle that remains occur so far irreconcilable relationship between Axl Rose and Slash. But maybe things are changing ... McKagan can be the perfect mediator.

Pending on what happens in the Hall Of Fame, here you have a video summary of the Seattle show, in which the good vibes between McKagan and Rose was more than evident.

A good sign ...

Duff McKagan's Loaded - "The Taking"

Written by www.emuzyka.pl - emuzyka

McKagan is now a loving husband and father, bringing along his daughter to the concert Justin Bieber. In addition, a businessman with economic education, which, like urban legend says, at the right time invested in Starbucks. Writes to the "Seattle Weekly", Slash will help sometimes, and sometimes something popróbuje of Jane's Addiction. It does not have anything and maybe that is why his band Loaded music sounds so good. Duff and his buddies are not trying to set trends, redefine species. They do not want anything to prove, no one to impress, to get the charts. That is enough to play simple, unpretentious and quite loud. "The Talking" is a juicy, strong, rock (hard rock at times) playing. Sometimes the riff zapachnie climate of the South, sometimes appears przytup blues (you know, as in "Dust N 'Bones" GN'R) or a bit of punk aggression. Arrangement shall we see no finesse here, though here and there merrily beeps, tambourine, acoustic sounds will be either passed through some widgets vocals. Numbers are sharper, with a nice, vigorous motor activity, but also quieter (not to be confused with the ballads). In comparison with the previous "Sick", the new work is less severe, denser and more melodic, and because production took up guitar champion Terry Date sawing bits until nice. Loaded is nothing new, nor unusual, but musicians do not try to convince us otherwise. "The Talking" does not even really stand out for something special. Do not change the fact that it is honest, fun rock and roll, which listens to the large, and even the very great pleasure.

Tour's End: Saying Goodbye to Whore's Baths, Punk-Rock Laundry, and 'Graze the Peach'

Written by Blogs.seattleweekly.com - Duff McKagan

loadedgrazethepeach1.jpg

OK, then. You have all had chance to come along on this whirlwind tour that today concludes here in Hamburg, Germany. For the past four weeks, I have tried my best to give you all an inside-ish view of what a rock tour is like.
Well, at least what a rock tour looks like if you are a band the size of Loaded. We don't get to do fancy things, like have days off. We in the band did a count the other day. In the 31 days that we have been gone, we will have been to five continents. Check it out:

-- U.S. to the UK (that's two continents)

-- Berlin to Santiago (the count is now three continents)

-- Cordoba, Argentina, to Berlin (four)

-- London back to Seattle (five, y'all)

Now there are definitely other and more sane ways to tour, for sure, but in our little Loaded world, things have to be just a bit insane for it all to make sense to us. For whatever reason, we attract the zaniest of tour scheduling.

But you all know how much of a family man I am . . . and I absolutely HATE to be away from them. In a perfect world, my wife Susan and our girls Grace and Mae (and our dumb dogs too, of course) would go on the road together. But there is this dumb thing called "school" that just plain gets in the way.

So without them being around, and just being around the same dudes 24/7, a strange phenomenon happens: We all start to act like 14-year-old boys (see my "Fart Tennis" column.) We have a game that has developed over these last couple of weeks (RIGHT after Mrs. McKagan and I parted ways in London) . . . this game has been dubbed "Graze the Peach."

It involves surprise and cunning. A quick and unknowing flick of the hand to another fella's groin region can sustain terror and "two hands on deck" at all times of the waking day. Bus bunks are off limits, and you can't Graze the Peach if someone is holding a hot beverage or computer. I've been drinking coffee and writing columns constantly as a result . . . Yes, yes. I know this just might be TMI.
I HATE Graze the Peach.

A Hard Day’s Night Meets Inception in Duff McKagan Movie

Written by www.gibson.com - Bryan Wawzenek

Former Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan is making a film to coincide with the release of his band’s new album. Duff McKagan’s Loaded is releasing The Taking on April 19.

“We’re making a movie for it which is hopefully as funny as we think it’s going to be,” McKagan told The CelebrityCafe.com.

The rocker said that the movie is about the band’s drummer being kidnapped, that it takes place in one day and that it might be a dream.

“We kind of act [in the movie],” he said. “It’s kind of A Hard Day’s Night/Inception… is it a dream?”

McKagan also talked about his hatred for reality television, despite being on the E! series Married to Rock.

“If you notice in Married I love my wife. I do. I love my wife. It's no secret around my house since reality shows came, it’s [expletive] garbage,” he said. “Then my wife [says] ‘They want me to be in a reality show.’ ‘Good for you, honey. Go do that thing.’ ‘But they kind of want you in it, too.’ And I’m kinda like ‘No. Nuh-uh. Why do they want me?’ ‘Well, it’s called Married to Rock and you’re like the rock that I'm married to.’

“So I’m married and when you’re married when you’re right, you’re wrong and when you’re wrong, you’re wrong. So if you notice in that show I’m kind of like only in it… But no, it hasn't changed. I hate reality… I don’t watch any of it.”

#Videos Duff McKagan's Loaded in Argentina

Written by @DuffMcKaganBRA - DuffMcKaganWorld

We present some videos of Duff McKagan's Loaded in Argentina, in fact the concert was a success!, And hope the success of Loaded in Argentina have it tonight in Cordoba!

#Note Duff McKagan arrives with loaded guns

Written by www.diaadia.com.ar - drafting by DuffMcKaganWorld

Former Guns N Roses bassist now plays with his band, Loaded. Present the album "The Taking", published this year.

Beyond its former bassist sheet Guns N 'Roses, Duff McKagan debuts today in Cordoba with a view to adding value in new music searches, from the hand of a band of their own (Loaded) and a new disk (The Taking ).

The concert will be from 21 at The Roxy (Rafael Nunez 3900) and in it, Duff (who is responsible for singing and playing guitar) will present The Taking and several Guns classics accompanied by the guitarist Mike Squires, bassist Jeff Rouse and drummer Isaac Carpenter. Tickets for the show can be achieved at 198 pesos in Eden (Bishop and Dean Funes Trejo) and Follies (July 9 451).

Extreme resistance. The young punk who left Seattle for Los Angeles and then joined the fledgling Guns N 'Roses went through thousands of metamorphosis, many of them painful, reaching a present that shows active and creative.

Addictions carried to extremes, flirting with death, a "rescue" timely and even extra-musical concerns (economic analysis studied in college and owns shares in Starbucks megacafetería) marked McKagan race who, in addition to Guns N 'Roses Velvet Revolver was able to go through and Neurotic Outsiders, and for a time soloist.

Duff McKagan: it was not so easy

Written by www.rollingstone.com.a - rollingstone

Former GNR returns to the country to play with Loaded, before, about his book, his past addictions and what the future holds for Velvet Revolver and Guns original

The guy who speaks from the other side of the phone used to take almost two liters of vodka a day and when she had to go out and play, was given a pass from market to raise some. If the thread and was going way up, took another bit of vodka, and so on. Imagine touring complete with that recipe. When the skin of his hands cracked from dehydration and his body swelled up like a balloon, let the vodka and started with the wine. Ten bottles a day, he says. But the tour ended, and meant to go home not knowing what to do with free time, and take and hope seemed to be the solution. When in 1994 Duff McKagan was awakened at his home in Seattle with an unbearable pain, she asked her doctor to kill him. Years and years of scabies had inflamed her pancreas until it literally exploded. Morphine detox and a warning: "If you take another drink, you die."

The biographies of rock musicians are full of such anecdotes, but It's So Easy (and other lies)-the story of Duff in his years of madness gunner and post-Guns-is so stark, vivid and set sail as a film fiction worthy of being filmed by Brian De Palma after Scarface. But no, the guy did not die and was saved with a recipe that included mountain biking, martial arts, wife and daughters. Also with a degree in Economics and Business at the University of Seattle, he learned several things. First, to manage their earnings, and second, to invest in companies such as Starbucks and Microsoft, and third, to write his columns on ESPN, Playboy and Seattle Weekly, among others. And while realizing cost him to return to the rock did not have to re-involve addiction, he did. First with his solo album (in parallel with the latest Guns), then with Neurotic Outsiders and Velvet Revolver and now with Loaded, the band with which he returns to Argentina and play this Saturday at the College Theatre, opening for Coverheads + Phil Lewis of LA Guns.

Argentina is a country gunner, how it feels to come back? We've lost count of how many times you came ...
I think that I am on the fourth or fifth time in Buenos Aires, and is easy to see how the city grew and became a "mecca" of rock n 'roll. The first time I went out there were not many bands that visit, and now seem to go together. You can say they are few specialists in rock!

The Taking, the latest album Loaded, punkrocker sounds pretty heavy. Is that back to the sources was intentional or just gave you?
The truth is I never tried to go in one direction or another, and I started thinking about making songs a certain way. The songs emerge and grow, or not. I was always influenced by punk, but more than anything by the music emanating fresh, spontaneous hand. So this new album is heavily influenced by the tours and what one sees and lives there.

In your book you talk about how difficult it was the transition from playing clubs to large stadiums. How do you feel now playing in places guys?
Mmmm. Loaded played in something like 300 shows, and do not do that to touch only on what we find most comfortable. For example, the last time we were in Argentina for Pepsi was a show under the sun, but the good thing was that there were many people. Of course it's good to touch in places kids, but most important is to connect with audiences no matter how big the place.

How long does it take you to write your book and how did the idea?
It took something like 14 months, which seems to be enough time, only during those months I also wrote two weekly columns, I recorded an album, I was on tour and I became a father and husband. The truth is that writing became something very pleasant for me, and ended up being something much longer and more detailed than a simple column. I started to look a little here and a little there about what he had to say, and I began to write short stories, mostly about how I ended up in hospital and the time I spent there in 1994. I wondered how I had become an addict, how it was possible that happen, and what else had been on had some kind of responsibility. And all that ended up being a pretty big book.

In the story he told in the book, you can say you're a true survivor of a rather extreme lifestyle. How do you handle your past now that you're the father of two teens that sometimes imagine, you have to set limits?
My daughters know my history and my problems. I am very honest with them, or they forreo not lie. My past is my past, and do not think they are aware of how close I was to die several years before they were born, and I think those stories about alcohol and drugs are more attractive to others, but not for them, because I am your father, you know? I have an eye on them all the time, and if all that is boring or embarrassing to them, it's all good. I will not have conversations with them from the side of "I did this because you do not have to do." I do not want to tell you what to do and what not to do, but I say this: I know everything about every drug and alcohol and tricks between them, so if you have doubts, here I am, as a parent or friend.

It is very common to hear you say that rock musicians are clean and sober, but after one in their entire term autobiographies that have relapsed again, even if one's looking pretty good. Is it really possible for you to be completely clean? Why is it so difficult and many can not do it ever?
Ugh, I could write another whole book on that. I think there are many influencing factors, and musicians are a little special for this topic. It is good to know that you're fucked, you know? And the decision to leave this really is one and no more than one. In the real world you can have a friend or an attorney to advise you, but in the rock world that often does not exist and one has to choose for yourself. Over the years I met a lot of musicians who were very smart, but I think sometimes with all that intelligence is not enough, and ends up earning what you feel. And that feeling becomes a drink or whatever. I remember every morning what happened to me was a rather extreme way to learn. Sucks to do so, but I learned.

Many bands are back together and formed many supergroups. Why a band Neurotic Outsiders was a single album?
I see Steve Jones all the time, we usually go around, I want it to death, and sometimes he tells me "Should not we put something together and go play again?". I love that band, but now I'm with Loaded.

Both Slash as you seem to be very busy with their current projects. ¿Velvet Revolver is a band yet? Is there anything new about the new singer?
The truth is that there is nothing new, and look forward to being a band, but we need a singer. I guess at some point we get together and see what we do, but sorry I can not say when.

Guns N 'Roses is nominated to be introduced into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. Both Izzy Stradlin like you were a guest in some of the current GNR concert. Did you think about what could happen next year? Do you see possible meeting?
I think you and I are thinking the same, but the truth is that I have no idea what will happen. I really want us to do something good for us and the fans. My relationship with Axl is good, and really appreciate the feeling of the fans, wanted to please them and pass something that falls short of our history, who can attest to our past. I hope so.

McKagan: Surprising Seattle boost in S. America‎

Written by espn.go.com - Duff McKagan

The Saints give Phil Anselmo, left, a lift while Duff McKagan expects bad news on the Seahawks.

I write to you this fine Sunday from a plane that is en route from Santiago, Chile, to Sao Paulo, Brazil. I'm down here with Loaded playing a few big rock festivals -- as, of course, spring is giving way to summer in the southern hemisphere.

On this very plane, we have pretty much all of the bands that played last night: Megadeth, Alice In Chains, Faith No More and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. The band Down also played, but inexplicably they are all on a different flight that has a layover in Buenos Aires.

Maybe it is because lead singer Phil Anselmo knows there is a sports bar at the Buenos Aires airport that will have on his beloved New Orleans Saints? Anselmo would indeed go that far out of his way to find a place to catch that game (he grumbled something about an NFC South rivalry with the Atlanta Falcons).

I don't care, and I personally can't find myself getting excited about the NFL. My woeful, dang Seattle Seahawks haven't given me much to go on here; and that is saying a lot. I've stuck with them every year since that franchise began, and now only feel myself being jealous when our drummer sneaks off to some Irish pub in Santiago, all excited to see his Oakland Raiders play the San Diego Chargers.

I didn't even know who the Hawks were playing this week. Yes, yes … I could look it up on the Internet, but the one extra "click" that I'd have to make just seems like a bad idea. What, do I really want to see who is gonna shut down our running-game-only team this week? Simple answer is … no.

DOWN JOINED BY DUFF MCKAGAN AT BRAZIL SHOW

Written by oudwire.com - Joe Robinson

Velvet Revolver / ex-Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan got down with Down in concert, sitting in with the band Monday for the song ‘Bury Me in Smoke’ at a show in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Duff McKagan’s Loaded were also on the bill, making the all-star onstage collaboration an easy one to pull off.

Down — the heavy metal supergroup featuring former Pantera singer Phil Anselmo, ex-Corrosion of Conformity guitarist Pepper Keenan, Eyehategod drummer Jimmy Bower, Crowbar guitarist Kirk Windstein and bassist Pat Bruders (who took over fro Rex Brown earlier this year) — are currently on a South American trek that is scheduled through a gig on Saturday in Mexico City.

Also during that gig, Anselmo got a little carried away and ended up smashing the microphone into his forehead repeatedly until a little blood seems to appear.  How metal is that!?

Video of both McKagan collaborating with Down and Anselmo attacking his forehead can be seen below:

DUFF MCKAGAN: Footage From Dublin Book Signing

Written by www.roadrunnerrecords.com - roadrunnerrecords

Duff McKagan's (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES, DUFF MCKAGAN'S LOADED) took part in a last-minute book signing on November 3 at Eason in Dublin, Ireland. Fan-filmed video footage of the event can be seen below.

McKagan's new book, "It's So Easy (And Other Lies)", landed at position No. 17 on the New York Times "Hardcover Nonfiction" best sellers list. The book arrived on October 4 via Touchstone Books (formerly Touchstone Fireside), a division of Simon & Schuster.

The first 80 pages of "It's So Easy (And Other Lies)" can be read at this location.

In this raw, utterly candid memoir, McKagan, the rock legend and founding member of rock supergroups GUNS N’ ROSES and VELVET REVOLVER, shares his story of excess, angst, struggle and triumph. "It's So Easy" details Duff's rise to the pinnacle of fame and fortune, his struggles with alcoholism and drug addiction, his personal crash and burn, his phoenix-like transformation via a unique path to sobriety, and his success as a savvy business investor and loving husband and father.

In a voice that is as honest as it is indelibly his own, Duff — one of rock's smartest and most articulate personalities — takes readers on his harrowing journey through the dark heart of one of the most notorious bands in rock-and-roll history and out the other side.

Duff's VELVET REVOLVER/GUNS N' ROSES bandmate Slash has published his own book, as has ex-GUNS drummer Steven Adler, who released his life story, "My Appetite For Destruction: Sex And Drugs And Guns N' Roses", in July 2010.

Duff McKagan’s Loaded - York Fibbers

Written by letthemusic-dothetalking.tumblr.com - Caris Smith

If any of you have ever been to Fibbers in York you will know what a pretty little venue it is, and also how incredibly tiny it is. So when i heard that Duff McKagan was bring Loaded here, although a little shocked i was very happy to be seeing them in such an intimate venue. Fibbers is the perfect place for a sweaty punk rock gig!

The night kicked off with Bristol band Riot:Noise, who did a great job of bringing the crowd to the stage and getting everyone warmed up. Good old ballsy, heavy rock with a melodic twist, well worth checking out. The same however, cannot be said for second support Dear Superstar. Despite a few fans in the crowd, the Manchester band sadly didn’t cut it for me. Some decent songs but they lacked grip, they all kind of blended into one another…

Finally time for Duff and the guys to take the stage, i had almost forgotten it was Halloween until the band walked on. Each wearing a mask of what was almost like a weird gnome/old mans head, very peculiar, certainly made everyone laugh though and as they tore into The Executioners Song the cheers rippled through the tiny venue. Next up was the anthemic We Win, always great for a sing along, followed by single Dead Skin, which is one of my personal favourites from the bands latest album The Taking, a real treat live.

The rest of the set featured a real mix of stuff, old and new. It was great to hear some early Loaded material like Dark Days and Wrap My Arms, but equally as great to hear the new album live. Tracks like Cocaine and Lords of Abbadon sound fantastic live, not to mention the epic Your Name in which Jeff Rouse really goes at it on the bass, brilliant.

Of course, the biggest crowd pleasers of the night are the Guns n Roses songs that feature in the set. The band lead us through So Fine pretty early on which causes mass sing along and Duff joking about forgetting the words because he is so jetlagged, and the only way for him to remember them is by seeing the crowd singing back at him.

The night ends with an encore of Attitude, a cover of the Misfits track  which Duff famously sang at GnR gigs, and Gunners classic It’s So Easy. Both send the entire room crazy as expected and are the perfect ending to a great night and a brilliant gig.

Loaded deserve a lot more credit than what they actually receive, they are a great rock and roll band who know how to put on a great gig. Highly highly recommend you check them out whilst they are over here, regrets all round if you don’t!

Written by www.roadrunnerrecords.com - roadrunnerrecords

GUNS N' ROSES singer and sole original member Axl Rose taped an hour-long interview with VH1's "That Metal Show" following the band's show in Miami on October 29, the second of its newly launched U.S. tour. The talk will air on Friday, November 11 as part of VH1 Classic's "National Metal Day" and will also include a live performance of "Live And Let Die" from the Florida concert.

On last night's (Friday, November 4) edition of Eddie Trunk's "Friday Night Rocks" radio show on New York's Q104.3 FM, Trunk — who co-hosts "That Metal Show" — talked about the interview and played a few teaser clips for listeners (hear audio in YouTube clip below).

After Trunk told Axl that he was impressed with the singer's performance throughout the three-hour set, calling Rose's vocals flawless and "spot on," Rose responded by saying, "I had a good night. It's not an anomaly, but I did have a good night, and I have been taking care of my voice. I do warm-ups before the show, I do warm-downs after the show, I do those religiously."

When asked about his pre-show rituals and preparations, Rose said, "Well, everybody in this band has their own physical regimen they have to go through . . . I do a lot of cardio when I can, or when I can force myself to. But yeah, you've got to get your wind up, and you've got to get your head in the right place and go out and do it."

Trunk also spoke about other vocalists who painted themselves into a corner by singing classic songs in a higher register and then having to perform them live 20 or 30 years later. "I did that with 'You Could Be Mine'," Axl admitted, before adding that "The first time I had to play that live, I was like, 'What did I do? What have I done, I have to sing this live now!'"

Rose was reportedly asked during the session about the band's possible induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, the chances of hearing new music, his notorious lateness at concerts, the current GUNS lineup and more.

Rose also announced that LOADED, the band led by former GUNS bassist Duff McKagan, will open some shows on the current road trip.

GUNS N' ROSES reportedly did not hit the stage until midnight in Miami, keeping fans waiting for two hours after openers BUCKCHERRY finished their set. GUNS finished their show at three in the morning and the interview took place at approximately 5:30 a.m.

The reclusive, eccentric Rose has not given a major interview to a radio or TV outlet in five years or more.

Duff McKagan's Loaded To Tour With Guns N' Roses

Written by www.rttnews.comStaff Writer

Duff McKagan has confirmed that his band Loaded will hit the road as the support act for a handful of Guns N' Roses' upcoming U.S. tour dates. That Metal Show's Eddie Trunk broke the news via Twitter earlier this week.

McKagan has been on better terms than most with Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose and appeared with the band during a performance last year in London.

GNR recently earned a nomination for the 2012 class of the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame, but McKagan says fans shouldn't expect a reunion performance.

"I can't picture it," he said. "Your guess is as good as mine. There is no picture."

He added: "It's bound to happen, but I'd love to call the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, whoever they are, and say, 'Hey guys, why don't you put this off for another 10 years? Thank you! Thanks for nominating us - it's great, but how about you put it off for 10 years?'"
